Steve Jellicorse
Background
Steve has extensive executive and entrepreneurial experience in a broad range of development and construction industries from land development and commercial development to homebuilding. Steve started his career as a project manager, developing master planned golf course communities for the largest developer in the United States. Later he began his homebuilding career in master planned upscale communities.
After several years as a senior executive in commercial office and industrial real estate development, Steve returned to homebuilding and land development, eventually starting MorningStar Builders, the predecessor to MorningStar Homes.
Steve has also served in a number of leadership roles, including regional and divisional president for large merchant homebuilding companies. Excellence is a hallmark of Steve's career, and he often gathers industry awards from his peers for the communities and homes he has built and the organizations he has run.
Family and Interests
Steve has an undergraduate background in engineering and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is an instrument-rated pilot and loves backpacking. He and Brenda, his wife of more than 30 years, have four children and three grandchildren. They are also actively involved in relief and faith-based missions in Africa, South America and among Native American communities.
