FULL CUSTOM/DESIGN BUILD Many of our customers come to us with a plan already selected but they just want to "make a few minor changes". Not to worry, our experience tells us that in many cases these minor changes can result in a substantial if not complete redesign of the home. That's what we excel at and that's why they call it CUSTOM. However, if you haven't looked at anything yet and want to design something completely different, from the ground up, again we are very comfortable doing this. We can design it in house or use one of several local architects that we would recommend. With our extensive knowledge base in the homebuilding business as well as our affiliation with a select group of subcontractors and an interior design firm, we can accommodate a wide variety of special needs or features in your new home. From indoor saunas to home theaters to “universal design” considerations, we have the ability to perform for you.
ESTATE HOMES
While there is no hard and fast rule as to what constitutes an "ESTATE HOME", we generally agree amongst ourselves that when the value of the home exceeds 1 million dollars, we consider it an estate home. The needs of the Estate customer can be very different from our other homes due in no small part to the sheer size of these homes. Many exceed 6,000 sq. ft. and the complexities of this type of construction can be daunting to the less experienced builder. The list of details that go into a home such as this is monumental and our experience and organizational skills have proven to be an asset in this arena. Working closely with our Interior Design firm, we will make sure that all the small details such as copper roof elements, smoking rooms, billiard rooms, just to name a few) are not overlooked with this investment.
HISTORIC IN-FILL Both principals at MorningStar Homes have an avid love of architecture and build homes in downtown Raleigh’s historic district. Our most recent projects have been in the Boylan Heights area of Raleigh and are period accurate for this era. Due to the nature of this type of construction, the initial planning process can be lengthy. Since we have built under these circumstances already, we know the process and how to get it done as quickly and correctly as possible.
