JOHN LILE
John was blessed with a father that instilled in him a strong work ethic and who was himself a hands-on craftsman. James Lile was John’s strongest influence in his life and his principles continue to guide him to this day.
John has an extensive background in all facets of residential and light commercial construction. He started his homebuilding experience over 30 years ago as a framing contractor learning this aspect of the business in a hands-on fashion. After successfully working in this field for a number of years, John made a decision to expand his knowledge base by joining a successful custom homebuilder to learn more of the business. After working and learning all he could about the custom homebuilding business, John went on to become active in homebuilding with one of the largest and most successful homebuilding companies in the U.S.
John has experience in all aspects of homebuilding from initial product development to land and lot development and all facets of the construction of the actual home. He has held many positions over the years, most recently as a regional president of a multi-state operation for a large homebuilding company on the east coast. His background and education in homebuilding is extensive and he has been recognized by many of his peers as a leader in this industry. John also has an extensive background in training and consulting on all aspect of homebuilding including management development and leadership training.
John has joined MorningStar Homes as a next step in his continued passion of homebuilding and is excited about having an opportunity to take all that he has learned over the years and assist customers in realizing their dreams.
John is an active 52 year old husband and father of two. He has been happily married to Barbara for over 28 years and they are in the process of adjusting to life as “empty nesters” now that their youngest has gone off to college. Justin, their oldest is in his Last Semester at NC State while Jessica, their youngest is in her sophomore year at Sweetbriar College in Virginia. Justin is currently doing an "internship" with MorningStar Homes as the final step towards earning his degree.
John loves the outdoors and is an avid craftsman who loves spending time in his workshop building furniture and built-in’s for his most recent home. In addition, he is addicted to anything with a motor in it and he and Justin have recently built both a custom car and motorcycle from the ground up as a “father and son” experience.
Just to round things out, John is also an avid photographer who has spent much of his life combining his love of the outdoors with his passion for outdoor and wildlife photography. He and his son are in the process of creating a website to feature some of their photographic works.
