We're excited that you are interested in our company and would like to share a little information about us and who we are and where we came from.

In 1998, a small home building company was founded by Steve Jellicorse based on the premise of building excellence through knowledge and experience. That company was known as MorningStar Builders. In 2005, a decision was made to take this company to the next level by welcoming a peer in the homebuilding industry, John Lile. With this new partnership came a new name, MorningStar Homes Inc. to reflect the birth of this new entity, as well as a new product line.

Steve and John both have extensive experience in all facets of homebuilding and share a joint philosophy on excellence in construction through knowledge and experience. You can read more about Steve and John in their respective biographies.

We are also the only member in the Raleigh area of the invitation only "Custom Builder program" sponsored by Southern Living Magazine. This program has over 100 hand picked custom builders representing some of the most exciting markets and all with a focus on the customer and design excellence.

MorningStar Homes is a Custom homebuilder that builds in two distinct areas, full custom and semi-custom. For our full  custom clients we focus on serving needs of the future homeowner who owns their own lot or land and needs an experienced homebuilder to assist them in realizing their custom dream. For our semi-custom clients we are currently building homes in a new community in Chapel Hill call Briar Chapel. We're excited about offering a unique line of rear enty garage homes in the time honored "craftsman" style in this fabulous new "green" community. You'll be able to get the attention of a custom builder without the cookie cutter mindset of the production builders in a world class community.

We're not a high volume production manufacturer of homes and pride ourselves on our working relationships with our customers. Our goal is to make the homebuilding process as painless and enjoyable for you as we possibly can while providing you with the most home for the greatest value.

Our focus is on the discriminating customer who is looking to build a custom, estate or semi-custom home and needs a builder with the knowledge to help them through this process. We spend a considerable amount of time prior to construction getting to know our customers and what their needs and wants are and then helping them realize their dream.

With the ability to do everything from full design build to construction of a plan that you have found, we're sure that your experience with us will be a pleasurable and fruitful one.
